The Generation Gap Challenge
A popular feature at Catford Community Church all-age sevices in 2004 was the brilliant Generation Gap Challenge. The idea is simple: someone under the age of fifteen is matched with someone older, and over the course of a month they have to spend enough time together learning about each other's favourite hobby that they can answer a tough quiz on the other subject next month.
Challenge 4: Chocloate Hamsters
In the latest challenge Rebecca had to learn how to look after Gemma's hamster, and we discovered whether Gemma had learned how to bake a chocolate cake. The hamster made a special guest appearance at the service, and stole the show.
Challenge 3: Running and Gaming
In the third challenge, Martyn, a keen long distance runner was paired with Josh - an avid Playstation gamer. Martyn took Josh running, and Josh showed Martyn the finer art of handling a game controller

Challenge 2: Hip-hop and horticulture
In the second of our Generation Gap Challenges Barabara Coe, an avid gardener, was paired with a group of teenagers into Hip-hop and MCing. In the end, just one of the group, Sarah, was able to go through with the challenge, and they both did brilliantly!

Challenge 1: Tins and Tutus
In the first all-age service of the year, Stephen Light (who collects tins!) was matched with Josie (who loves ballet and tap dancing). Interviewed as they were practising a few ballet steps outside after the service, Stephen was optimistic. Josie wasn't so sure.
