I’ve been at CCC since the start and one of the things I enjoy most about Church life is small group that I’m part of.  I’ve developed good friends, people that look out for me and encourage me. One of the highlights of the last couple of years was the surprise garden make-over they gave my neglected garden!  They’ve also been instrumental in my understanding of who God is and what discipleship means.
 
Small Groups give each of us an opportunity to get to know other people at Church, develop friendships and explore what it means to be a disciple of Jesus.  Have a look at the list below and think about getting involved – there are so many groups that I hope you will see something that interest you.
 
There are a number of small groups at Catford Community Church:
 
1)   A Tuesday morning Group, led by Fiona Darbyshire.  The group is about supporting one another, through the highs and lows of life, in prayer and through Bible study.  Often involving trips to Coolings (a garden centre), for coffee and chat! 
2)   There are three Wednesday evening groups:
a.   Jonathan, Chris and Wendy lead one that meets every other week. The vision for the group is that “Together as a group we’d get more and more excited about God’s word and the privilege of learning about Jesus and getting to know and serve Him more.”
b.  Nicole, Mike and Johan lead another that meets every week, including one Sunday lunch a month. 
c.   Phil and Tracey lead another, which also meets every week and includes one Sunday lunch a month.  Both these groups have a vision to look at the word of God, to discover what God says to us today, to provide a safe environment for people to explore the gifts of God and to develop friendships.
3)  The 20’s Group meets on Thursdays and is led by Bethan.  The vision for the group is that it would continue to grow in numbers and depth of relationship and that they would begin to search for a deeper reality together.
4)  The Youth Small Group meets on Wednesdays and is led by Fiona.  It is aimed at 14-18 year olds.  The group is a place of fun, friendship and going deeper with God.
5)  Worship Group  led by Mike Burn
6)  Men’s Group led by Richard Darbyshire
7)  Wondrous Wise Women led by Kim Knappett
8)  The Global Justice Group led by David and meets every couple of months to look at global issues
9)  The Global Partnership Group meets monthly and is led by Stephen Russell-Smith
10) The Alpha Course is currently taking place on Tuesday mornings and is led by Maureen
11) The Friendship Group led by Fiona Darbyshire, which meets weekly in Downham
